Background and Purpose: Internet addiction is a common behavioral problem in adolescents, and innovative interventions may help mitigate its negative consequences. This study examined the effectiveness of digital art therapy on emotion regulation and self-compassion in adolescents with internet addiction. MethodThis quasi-experimental study employed a pretest–posttest design with one experimental group and one control group. The statistical population consisted of students from District 1 of Rasht city in the 2024–2025 academic year. A total of 30 students were selected through convenience sampling and were randomly assigned to an experimental group and a control group (15 participants in each group). The experimental group received eight 45-minute sessions of digital art therapy, while the control group did not receive any intervention Data collection tools included the Internet Addiction Test (Kimberly Young., 1998), the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale) DERS( (Gershon & Rommer., 2004), and the Self-Compassion Scale) SCS; Neff et al, 2003). Multivariate Analysis of Covariance (MANCOVA) was used for data analysis with SPSS20. Results:Digital art therapy had a significant effect on emotion regulation (F=32.35, p<0.001) and self-compassion (F=11.80, p<0.001). The intervention significantly reduced non-acceptance of emotional responses, difficulties in goal-directed behavior, impulse control difficulties, lack of emotional awareness, and limited access to emotion regulation strategies (p<0.01), but did not significantly change lack of emotional clarity (p>0.05). It also led to significant increases in self-kindness, common humanity, and mindfulness, and significant decreases in isolation, self-judgment, and over-identification (p<0.01). Digital art therapy appears to be a promising intervention for improving emotion regulation and self-compassion in adolescents with internet addiction. Conclusion:
